Community Health sciences curriculum
A Prerequisite for Life: A First-of-Its-Kind Approach to Health
The curriculum takes a comprehensive look at the determinants of health to provide lifelong health and wellness education to high school aged youth. A wide variety of topics are taught with a holistic approach to health and wellness, which includes the 9 Dimensions of Wellness: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Social, Spiritual, Environmental, Occupational, Financial, and Digital health and how they are interconnected to produce lifelong wellness. Students are engaged with learning materials, activities, videos, and projects which help them navigate their individual needs and build tools to approach future challenges.
L.I.V.e Model workshop
The L.I.V.E. Model Workshop is a four-part, three hour workshop for youth aged 10 to 24 to learn about comprehensive health in a safe, supportive environment. Participants learn about physical, emotional, mental, and digital health through activities, educational videos, and small group discussions. Workshops can be provided in-person or virtually. A licensed mental health professional is included with the trainer to support interventions or assistance outside of the workshop.
Alert+AWARE workplace workshop
The Alert + Aware Workplace workshop is a two-hour workshop which teaches employees, managers, and leaders on how to navigate suicide in the workplace. Participants learn about the signs of suicide, how to get proper resources and support, incorporating Employee Assistance Programs, and overall workplace wellness and self-care. The workshop can be completed in-person or virtually.
